This relief print features cherry blossom tree branches with falling petals in front of a Japanese landscape with a pagoda. It has been printed on approximately 7 inch by 8.5 inch mulberry paper, which is a beautiful thin, textured paper made from mulberry tree fibers. The actual print is 5 inches by 6 inches, and it has a margin around the edges.
This image was hand carved into a linoleum matrix, and then hand inked and printed with a relief press. An edition of ten were printed, along with five artists proofs. This listing is for one of the ten in the edition. Prints are numbered, titled, signed, and dated at the bottom. Comes loose with no frame or matte.
I call this piece "First to Bloom."
